October Arts on Sunday Series Festivals

Arts on Sunday Festival

The Arts on Sunday festivals sponsored by AFAS, Art for Art’s Sake, continue to be one of my favorite series of events in Winston-Salem. The festivals take place every Sunday in October from 1 to 5 pm. The 500 and 600 blocks of Trade Street, along with a portion of the 200 block of 6th Street is the site for all the action.  The streets are lined with artists and craftspeople showing and selling their creations. Many of the shops and galleries in this area are open as well. Then there is live entertainment, a well managed kids area, chalk Continue reading

Finnigan’s Wake holds the permit for the street closings, which includes putting the barricades up and arranging off-duty police officers to provide security. The barricades will be in Continue reading

Arts On Sunday Featured in Today’s Relish

arts on sunday

Mark Sunday, May 4th, from 1 to 5 pm, on your things-to-do calendar. Same with all the other Sundays in May. The 2014 edition of Arts on Sunday opens Sunday with a street full of exhibitors and a “Blues-a-Palooza” of three bands: the Twin City Buskers, The Low Counts, and Wezo and the Mofos. A bandstand will be set up at the intersection of Sixth and Trade streets. It will be held each Sunday in May and again in October.
