SUMMER ON TRADE Music series for 2013

The Downtown WS Partnership just released the bands scheduled to play at the 2013 edition of Summer On Trade music series.
This is hands-down one of the best events to be found in downtown WS—-and thanks to the generosity of a number of corporate sponsors, IT’S ALL FREE.
Just bring your own chair and dancing shoes. Beer and wine will be available for purchase and may be consumed within the street barricades which include the 500 and 600 blocks of Trade Street, and the adjacent blocks of 6th Street. Many of the shops and galleries stay open late, some providing chalk for the kids to express themselves on the giant asphalt canvas.  Eateries and pubs such as 6th and Vine and Finnigan’s Wake bring in their reinforcements and often have live music scheduled to begin at 10pm and still serve late-evening fare so you can keep the party going!

If you are concerned about the weather, bring an umbrella. The show generally goes on in the case of light-to-medium showers. Severe thunderstorms and heavy downpours duringset-up are about the only weather situations that would cause cancellation, and that’s only if the forecast calls for non-stop rain and storms all evening long.

If you are not sure about the status of the concert, check the DWSP Facebook page.

OR give Deborah a call at Willy Nilly. She has a direct view of the stage area and can tell you whether they’re setting up the stage or waiting on the weather….336-306-4050.

So fill in your Saturday calendar slots now, beginning June 22nd, throughout the summer.months. Music starts at 7pm and continues until 10pm.

Parking is available in lots and on-street parking in the areas surrounding the 6th and Trade intersection.. There is a large lot in the 600 block of Liberty Street that usually has space, although it’s better to get there earlier rather than later.

WEATHER STATEMENT FOR SUMMER MUSIC SERIES:
On days of Summer Music Series events, there occasionally could be adverse weather. Please note that the show will go on unless you hear something different from the DWSP. If a show is canceled due to weather conditions, the DWSP will update the DWSP Facebook Page and the DWSP Twitter Feed. We will make every effort to produce the event as scheduled. Occasionally, there could be a delayed start to the concert due to weather, but the concert will go on nonetheless. Thank you.
