What’s Happening?

There are 2 more Summer On Trade music events Saturday August 23 and 30, 7-10pm.

In October we’ll have the Arts on Sunday festivals, an event organized by AFAS – Art for Art’s Sake. These take place every Sunday in October. Each date has a different theme, with the last one being Halloween. The first Sunday is Blues-a-Palooza, which will have 2 live blues-rock bands performing on stage at the 6th and Trade St. intersection. The 500 and 600 blocks of Trade Street will be lined with artists and craftspeople displaying and selling their works. Various other street performers make an appearance, and there is a kid’s area with a make-and-take project planned.

So plan your Sundays starting with Sunday brunch at one of the fine Trade St. and Sixth St. restaurants, and then spend the afternoon at the Arts on Sunday festival from 1 to 5 pm. It’ll be a great way to shop local, support your local artists, and do some holiday shopping.
